yes, it’s mid-July, but the wild flowers are still trying to break through the snow pack in a lot of places out here… below is a the underside of one such flower in the Hot Springs branch of the Collowash River in Mt. Hood National Forest – say that 3 times fast. Tried to make it up to Squaw Lakes off FR-4610 but the snow pack was upwards of 4ft in some places. Had a great time in the valley though!

Went exploring the Clackamas River 50 some miles up the valley/gorge from Estacada. The roads over the passes still aren’t passable – ran into some heavy patches of snow over 4,000ft. At one of the spots where we had to turn the car around we hiked up a bit and found this snow melt fed waterfall. Check out the whole set here.

apparently there’s hardly ever a thunderstorm here in the Pacific NW, but yesterday we had a pretty good one. Nothing like the power of an afternoon storm in DC, but still halfway decent. Unfortunately the lightning in this storm didn’t have the voltage for any good pics. below is one of the first pics i took with a DSLR. shot from my balcony in Arlington.

My friends Craig & Ian just got a pretty good review of their band Once, Okay Twice in PureStyle.
Not sure how legit the review is though since they referred to Craig as “a bit more serious and reserved than the rest of the bunch,” which is pretty laughable. Anyway… Check it out here.
