took a trip out to the delaplane area and then took dirt roads back almost to gainesville before getting back on the highway… Caught this shot on the way home nead broad run and the thoroughfare gap.

yes, it’s mid-July, but the wild flowers are still trying to break through the snow pack in a lot of places out here… below is a the underside of one such flower in the Hot Springs branch of the Collowash River in Mt. Hood National Forest – say that 3 times fast. Tried to make it up to Squaw Lakes off FR-4610 but the snow pack was upwards of 4ft in some places. Had a great time in the valley though!

Went exploring the Clackamas River 50 some miles up the valley/gorge from Estacada. The roads over the passes still aren’t passable – ran into some heavy patches of snow over 4,000ft. At one of the spots where we had to turn the car around we hiked up a bit and found this snow melt fed waterfall. Check out the whole set here.
