Fly Fishing w/ the Pup

Written by , Posted in fishing, Uncategorized

Worked all weekend and decided to sneak out on a beautiful afternoon to one of my favorite trout streams. Somehow this Spring has been so busy it wasn’t until today that i made my first casts of the year. Absolutely gorgeous day and all the hard work i put into training the dog has paid off. With only the rare command, she has turned into an amazing fishing companion… enjoying the opportunity to chase squirrels and play in the woods while staying close but out of the way. Spring in Oregon

Written by , Posted in fishing, Pac NW, Photography, road trips, Uncategorized

yes, it’s mid-July, but the wild flowers are still trying to break through the snow pack in a lot of places out here…  below is a the underside of one such flower in the Hot Springs branch of the Collowash River in Mt. Hood National Forest – say that 3 times fast. Tried to make it up to Squaw Lakes off FR-4610 but the snow pack was upwards of 4ft in some places.  Had a great time in the valley though!
